Patient Instructions for Endoscopy (EGD) Surgeries

No food or water 6-8 hours before your procedure.

You'll receive light sedation. Most patients don't remember the procedure.

Have someone accompany you; you can't drive yourself home.

A mild sore throat is common. Warm tea or lozenges may help.

You can eat normally unless your doctor says otherwise.

If you have trouble swallowing, fever, or chest pain, call us immediately.
